The former British Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling and US President come together to legislate internationally against offshore tax havens. But this of course depends on the definition and some could suggest that the UK is a tax haven for the very rich with rumours abound that many Russian oligarchs that London welcomes are able to avoid paying any tax at all. In fact in recent years US multi-national coporations have been accused of completely and arrogantly refusing to recognise that they should pay any tax at all in the UK, arguing the staff they employ pay taxes to the UK Exchequer.
