David Cameron political cartoon
'Mummy's Boy' for Tribune. I wouldn't want to be indiscreet in explaining this one, but I think it's quite self-explanatory.
The Prime Minister has made no secret he is a great fan of the former Conservative leader and PM. Former Labour PM's Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were also often heard praising her and Brown even had her round to Downing Street for afternoon tea. It is widely accepted the agenda for modern economics and politics was iniated with the Conservative's 1979 general election victory - an agenda of less state provision of services and more private provision, less support for those in need through the welfare state and deregulation of the financial market leading to the point where today there is little time for any alternative views to the hard right social and economic agenda.
